How to get there ?

 

By tramway (public transportation)

Public transportation (tram and bus) is operated by the TAM company. It is the easiest way to move around the city.

  Each ticket is valid for 1 hour 30 from the time it is purchased.
         No ticket validation is required when you enter the tram/bus, therefore you cannot buy your ticket in advance for a future trip.

 

  • Line 1 stop at "Université des Sciences et Lettres" station
  •   walk 10 to 15 minutes from the tram stop and through the University Campus to reach the auditorium room (building 20)

Coming to Montpellier

 

By plane

Daily flights from Paris and Europe arrive to Montpellier-Méditerranée Airport, located 10 kilometres away from the city center.

Access to the city from the airport:

  • By shuttle: take the Montpellier Airport Shuttle -bus line 620- that will lead you to “Place de l’Europe” tram station (Line 1 and 4) in ≈ 25 minutes. From there, take the tram to join the city center (Line 1 direction "Mosson")

  • By taxi: ≈ 20 minutes ride

 

By train

Daily services to and from all major cities. The TGV -high-speed train- arrives in the 2 railway stations in Montpellier:
  • Saint Roch Station: main train station in the city center, all the tramway lines pass in front of the main entrance.
  • Montpellier Sud de France, to join the city center:

    - Take the Shuttle that will lead you to “Place de France” tram station (Line 1) in ≈ 10 minutes.
    - From there, take the tram (Line 1 direction "Mosson") to join the city center.
 

By road

Staying in Montpellier

 

Montpellier is a beautiful pedestrian historic city, we advise to stay at a hotel in Montpellier City Center to enjoy its nice atmosphere and use the public transportation facilities. Find a few suggestions of accomodations below:

 

  • Hotel Océania – charming hotel next to the central train station. We will have our gala dinner there on July, 2.

 

  • Citadines Antigone Montpellier – aparthotel located in Antigone, an emblematic modern district with all facilities. Easily accessible by taxi and tram, 10 minutes from the main "place de la Comédie".
